Digital signage prices do not always describe equivalent purchases. One proposal may include only a display, while another covers software and installation. The useful starting question is therefore not simply the price of a screen, but the scope of the publishing system you intend to install and operate.

This guide is not a fixed price list. It separates the budget so a business can compare its own equipment, licence and service quotations. Initial investment and subsequent operating expenses should appear within the same assessment.

Compare total cost over an equivalent period

Choose a common comparison period. For example, 36 months can serve as a hypothetical planning horizon, not a statement about the economic lifetime of every system. Avoid comparing a monthly software fee directly with a multi-year service package.

A practical structure is initial hardware plus integration and installation, followed by software, content production, energy, maintenance and support over the chosen period. Provider cost guides also separate hardware, software and operation. Their overseas example prices are not being presented here as local Unisoft quotations.

Separate displays from playback hardware

List screen quantities, environments, operating hours and image requirements. Do not treat a storefront display and an office information screen as identical equipment. Check whether mounts, delivery and service access are included or priced separately.

Some displays include playback hardware while the management licence remains separate. Samsung's OHA documentation distinguishes the integrated MagicINFO player from the separately purchased licence. Built-in processing should not be interpreted as a promise that every publishing feature is free.

When comparing professional media players, state the required operating system, formats, connectivity and performance. Adding unnecessary hardware and omitting essential components can both make competing offers look misleadingly different.

Understand the software charging unit

For digital signage software pricing, ask how the fee is calculated, not only its monthly total. If charging is based on displays, devices, users or modules, make the unit visible in the proposal. Include renewal, advance-payment and additional-screen conditions.

Demonstrate the features actually needed, such as scheduling, device monitoring, multiple accounts, integrations and reporting. Do not assume every package includes them in the same way. Avoid automatically budgeting unused modules without identifying the task they would serve.

Make installation and integration explicit

Request a defined scope for survey work, networking, electrical preparation, mounting, device setup, software configuration and pilot testing. Where a POS or other data source must be connected, clarify responsibility and method before treating a lump-sum quote as complete.

Ask about travel, installation outside normal hours, removing existing hardware and staff training. The aim is not to add every possible cost to every project, but to establish where the cost sits when your installation requires the service.

Budget for ongoing content production

An initial campaign design and monthly content creation are different deliverables. Specify new assets, revisions, translations, video production and publishing responsibility. When assessing Digital Signage Services, do not leave the scope at a broad phrase such as content support.

If an internal team creates the material, plan its time. An absence of external invoices does not mean the work needs no resources. Assign preparation, approval and quality checks to actual roles rather than an unspecified future owner.

Base energy and servicing on operating conditions

Estimate energy by multiplying average power in kW by operating hours. For a purely hypothetical device averaging 0.10 kW, 12 hours a day over 30 days equals 36 kWh. This is not a specification for any product. Standby use, additional devices and other consumption must be assessed separately.

Do not confuse maximum rated power with measured average consumption. Use actual operating measurements in the estimate.

Samsung's QMC documentation lists model-specific power information.

Separate remote support, site attendance, parts, travel and replacement when comparing service scope.

Compare proposals and choose a defined system

Use equivalent screen numbers, time periods, software functions and services. Mark excluded items explicitly instead of treating an empty line as included. Any savings or payback assessment should use your own baseline and actual costs, not an assumed industry percentage.

Evaluate professional monitor options together with digital signage software. Share locations, branch count, sample content and support expectations with Unisoft when requesting a proposal. This makes the quotation describe a working system rather than the purchase price of a single device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there one starting price for every signage project?

No single scope fits every installation. Do not treat a headline equipment price as the full cost before identifying software, installation and service needs.

Does a built-in player include free management software?

Not necessarily. Hardware and licensing can be separate. Confirm CMS, renewal and feature coverage in the quotation.

Should software be bought monthly or upfront?

Compare functions, updates, support and renewal conditions over the same period. The payment model alone does not establish the better value.

How can electricity use be estimated?

Multiply average kW by operating hours, accounting for screens and other components. Use the tariff applicable to your own electricity agreement.

What information should accompany a quote request?

Provide screen quantities, floor plans, hours, content types, branch numbers, existing infrastructure and support expectations. Keep the scope consistent for comparison.
