Self Order Projesi

Year

2025

Location

Türkiye Geneli

Self Order kiosks have been implemented at various Costa Coffee sales points in Turkey to accelerate the customer experience and digitize ordering processes.

Within the scope of the project, independent ordering points were created where customers can review the menu without going to the cash register, determine products and options, personalize their orders, and complete payment transactions via the kiosk.

Thanks to the kiosks positioned in locations with high customer traffic, an alternative ordering channel to the traditional cash register process was offered, enabling customers to create their orders at their own pace and in a more controlled manner.

The kiosk structure, which brings together components such as a touch screen, integrated payment terminal, receipt printer, and status light in a single body, was positioned to adapt to Costa Coffee's store concept. Thanks to the visual-heavy interface used on the screens, it is aimed to present coffee and food options to the customer in a more understandable and eye-catching way.

The Costa Coffee Self Order Project carried out across Turkey in 2025 combined the physical store experience with digital ordering technologies to create a faster, easier, and more modern ordering process.

Costa Problem
What Was the Problem?

At various Costa Coffee sales points across Turkey, customer traffic, especially during peak hours, made it necessary to manage ordering processes faster and more smoothly. In the traditional ordering structure, all customers heading directly to the cash register could lead to both crowds in front of the cash registers and an elongation of the ordering process.

The large number of coffee, beverage, and snack options on the menu, combined with personalization steps such as size, content, and extra product preferences, made the ordering process more complex. This could extend customers' decision-making time during busy periods while also slowing down the flow at the cash register line.

At the same time, store teams simultaneously carrying out order-taking, payment, and operational preparation processes became a factor directly affecting service speed. In line with Costa Coffee's modern store experience, a digital and user-friendly self-order infrastructure was needed where customers could comfortably review the menu, create their orders on their own, and complete payments quickly.

Cash Register Congestion
Cash Register Congestion

The fact that all customers headed to the cash register point for orders during busy hours increased waiting times and slowed down the service flow.

Prolonged Payment Process
Prolonged Payment Process

Due to beverage selection, size preference, and extra product decisions, the ordering time could be prolonged, which negatively affected customer flow.

Operational Load
Operational Load

Store teams carrying out order-taking, payment management, and preparation processes simultaneously increased the workload during busy periods.

Need for Alternative Payment Point
Need for Alternative Payment Point

There was a need for an alternative ordering point where customers could examine the menu, create their orders by themselves, and complete the payment process quickly.

How Did We Solve It?

Self Order kiosks were put into service at Costa Coffee sales points to speed up the ordering process and reduce the congestion occurring in front of the cash registers.

An independent ordering experience was created where customers can review the menu via the touch screen, select their products, personalize their beverages, and complete their payments directly on the kiosk.

The kiosks were positioned in areas within the store and high-traffic points where customers could easily notice and use them. Thus, a portion of the customer traffic heading to the traditional cash register was distributed to self-order points, ensuring a more balanced flow of orders.

Thanks to the visual-heavy and simple interface structure, product options were made more understandable. By completing the order and payment steps at a single point, both the customer experience was accelerated and the order-taking burden on store teams was reduced.

Self Order Kiosk
Self Order Kiosk

In the Costa Coffee project, Self Order Kiosk solutions were used so that customers can complete their ordering processes quickly and independently. Thanks to the kiosks operating via a touch screen, customers can visually review the menu, select their products, personalize their orders, and complete payment transactions directly through the kiosk. Thus, order and payment steps are brought together at a single digital point. Hardware components such as an integrated payment infrastructure and thermal receipt printer support fast and uninterrupted execution of transactions. The Self Order Kiosk structure can be configured according to different payment methods such as credit/debit card, contactless payment, and QR code. Used at Costa Coffee locations with high customer traffic, the kiosks contribute to a more balanced management of customer flow by creating an alternative ordering channel to the traditional cash register. With its user-friendly interface and easily accessible structure inside the store, it offers a fast, modern, and independent ordering experience.
